What it is
Seth FX is a free pack of effects, transitions, titles, LUTs, sound effects and helper scripts for DaVinci Resolve Studio. Every effect is original GPU code (Fusion Fuses). The sounds and LUTs were generated with math, and the 3D TVs and 3D transitions were modeled and rendered in Blender. No third-party packs, no stock footage, no real logos.
Every effect works the same way: a Preset dropdown picks the look, Amount turns it up or down, and every other slider is a tweak on top of the preset. Switch presets and your tweaks stay. Everything can be keyframed.

- 45 titles: Terminal Type, Decode Scramble, Code Reveal, VHS On-Screen, Neon Sign, 80s Chrome, Lower Third, Credits Roll, Kinetic Type, HUD frames, and Verse Lookup (type "John 3:16"; the King James text is included).
- 15 scripts: Audio FX (telephone, radio, VHS, cave, robot and more), Auto-Duck, Streaming Loudness (-14 LUFS), Silence Remover, Scene Cuts, Beat Markers, Video Chapters, Proxy Maker and more.
- 16 LUTs (VHS Tape, Bleach Bypass, Teal and Orange, Super 8 Warm, Noir BW, Cyberpunk Neon…) and 32 sound effects (risers, booms, whooshes, 8-bit sounds, CRT power on/off), 48 kHz WAV.
- Optional 3D add-ons: Real TV (10 TV models with warm-up and click-off), Page Turn 3D, Shattered Glass 3D, 3D Neon Grid.
What you need
- DaVinci Resolve Studio. Built and tested on Studio 21.0.4. The free version of Resolve hasn't been tested.
- Linux (tested). The installer is Linux-only; Windows and macOS haven't been tested.
- A GPU Resolve can use (tested on NVIDIA).
- For the scripts only: python3, ffmpeg, kdialog, numpy and soundfile (librosa for Beat Markers), and Resolve's External scripting set to Local.
How to install
- Download the main pack, plus any add-ons you want. Unzip them all in the same place.
- Quit Resolve.
- Open a terminal in the
seth-fx-resolvefolder and runbash install.sh. No password needed. - Start Resolve. Everything is on the Edit page → Effects → Toolbox → Effects / Video Transitions / Titles / Generators → Seth FX. Scripts: Workspace → Scripts → Seth FX. LUTs: Color page → LUTs → Seth FX.
- Got an add-on later? Unzip it into the same place and run
bash install.shagain.
Outside sites it contacts
- None for the effects, transitions and titles. The optional "Seth BTC Price" script looks up the current Bitcoin price online when you run it.
Good to know
- Restart Resolve after installing: new effects only load at startup.
- Resolve 21 sometimes stalls a render right after new media is added: save, restart Resolve, render again.
- Seth CRT Pro at 1080p: use Mask Size 3.5 or more; export 4K for YouTube.
- Some title styles use free Google Fonts (Bebas Neue, Anton, Press Start 2P and others) that aren't bundled. Install them or pick any font.
